For those of you not bored by these pictures yet, check out this one.
Taken by a relative from a house on Hancock St. which is now gone and replaced by the 4 laner.
The two tanker cars would now be the east bound lane of the LF by-pass.
On the left you can see the roof of Allegro Shoe which is also gone. The building in the center with the smoke stack is H. P. Snyder Bicycle factory which is also gone.
Middle-center, the entrance of the underpass hasn't changed much but the road you see just right of it is the old John Street when it went all the way to Main and Furnace.

Bored by these pictures? Not a chance. I think they are great. I enjoy them, and hope to see more. I find it very interesting to see how the area once looked, and how things have changed. Please keep posting any pictures you may have. I am sure I'm not alone in saying they are appreciated.

I love 'em too !
But I'm not sure that is Snyders...
Seems like it would be the old LF Felt Shoe...
On the southwest corner of Main and Furnace.
What year would the photo be ?
I'm more curious about the hillside in the background.
What is there around King and Pine streets ?

I'm more curious about the UFO in the sky on the left.
