Montana Sucks Seriously

Texarkana, TX

Natures playground with asbestos. That part of the river at the end of Kootenia River Road, in the place it dead ends, probably taken on the boat ramp or near it, is downriver from those streams with warning signs telling people it is dangerous to swim or play in them because of the asbestos. EPA should have relocated people instead of doing a hack job of cleaning.

Greetings MSS...Just to let you know that you can sure bet the banks of the Kootenai River, from Rainy Creek/Hwy 37 towards/past Troy and who knows how far but what the wind didn't carry, this deadly asbestos fiber, which is KNOWN to travel air borne up to 20 miles(EPA radius),each time it is disturbed, the railroad, remember, also has knowingly left a trail of exposure, sickness and death.ALL OVER THIS COUNTRY....ALL FROM LIBBY...People all over this country who have lived along/near railroad tracks have been exposed to the Libby Tremolite asbestos. And many have died from Meso...only because asbestos causes meso.So does any asbestos exposure. So I really hate to burst your bubble my friend but Fisher River is less than 20 miles and right long side of the rail road tracks. It's kinda hard to ex scape this deadly asbestos. That's why I try to warn all to protect all, specially the children. Why don't someone do tests for asbestos on the banks of the river. I know the rail road FROM Libby to all over the State has been tested from 1979 to 2002 and found over 200 Meso deaths.Just think of all the thousands that are missed. And this so called study did not test for any other asbestos related diseases, just Meso. The only thing they could blame these deaths on...Meso.You can always catch and release and go to McDogals for a fish wich.Even fries and a pepsi. This whole exposure sure messed alot of things and lives up....

so are there petitions going for this maybe? Contact the governor or state representative. It seems like you cant even go fishing and eat the fish or what about if you have gardens, is it safe? I thought asbestos was a thing of the past, where is it all coming from..
I may do a research paper for class on asbetos and libby.
I live in Missouri but have a unique fascination with montana and I cannot believe something so beautiful is so deadly.

Hi Sarah. All this deadly exposure is already well known and yet it still continues and lies being told have not stopped. This Government/State/Federal/Local /County,etc etc are aware of this and the reason for their failure to test is the truth. The truth that EVERYWHERE this deadly asbestos fiber exists along all/ALL rail road routes out of Libby Mt.30 million plus homes have this deadly asbestos. It is what we know now that we didn't know then. But this Government and WR Grace knew 40 years ago what would happen today. Here we are.Sick and dying.Sarah, I don't know why the concern is not stopping this deadly exposure to new folks, maybe because it is sooo big and so deadly and so wrong that it is almost impossible to resolve. But first the truth has to be told and that is what I have done since 1999.Tell the truth that Libby Mt is not safe.Sarah, check out Eagle Voices/Community Forum/Libby,EPA,LATAG,CAG.Thei r is alot of great info from the people effected, etc. If you decide to do a story/paper on Libby, I would be glad to help you with info...It's bad enough that this was done to all of us but to allow this to continue knowing innocent people will suffer and die a horrible death...is beyond me..Take care and stay away from Libby Mt.Keep the Children out.Thank you
