What does it take to get Concord & S. 10th Street mowed?
On 03 August, I've been nearly hit by someone flying around the corner from Concord onto S. 10th Street while I was approaching the stop sign on S. 10th. Now just awhile ago, as I was turning from Concord onto S. 10th Street and before I even got completely turned, a young punk came barreling down to the stop sign and we both barely stopped in time. If this corner was maintained properly, I wouldn't have even attempted to turn because I would have saw that speeder.

I know if the LPD wanted to cash in on speeding tickets they should sit the the Old Emmanuel Baptist Church on the corner of S. 10th and Schwietzer because people use S. 10th Street as a bypass of Hwy.171's light signals.

If I was the homeowner at the corner of John Paul Jones and Jeane St., I would trim the trees so people could see the stop sign. How come the city doesn't enforce that safety issue?

I agree with you on both issues. Do not forget the bushes at the intersection of Jeane and Kings Rd. I asked the same questions and the response from a representative of the city was 'if the weeds are on common ground, than the owner of the lot is responsiblr for cutting them'.'If the tree limbs are from a tree on private property, the owner of the property needs permission from the chief of police to trim them'.
Get your fat lazy ass out and be proactive for your community insted of just being a little bitch?

NOT, if the grass is on the Right of Way, hopefully what you are referring to as common ground, the city would typically be responsible. The Chief of Police has nothing to do with giving permission to trim trees.

I know what you mean about the huge bushes there but at least they have been there for many years and they keep them trimmed. That wasn't very smart of them to plant them there if they can't keep them low enough for cars to see over. Why would the Chief of Police have any say? That should be Street Maintenance's job.
