The mayor is not going to do anything about the floods in Justice, he is more concerned about a truck stop in the village and that is a project that the residents should start protesting at board meetings.

What would you like the Mayor to do about the flooding? I'm not saying that you are wrong and something doesn't need to be done but what are you suggesting? The truck stop was a proposal for the plot of land by the old school it isn't and hasn't been confirmed that it will be moved on.

It's been said many times that any business that wishes to give a proposal for that plot can. Maybe the point should really be tying to figure out how to rally more companies interest in that spot?

I am tired of the excuses the mayor keeps giving about the flooding. He has promised to do something and had done nothing. Van Allen did more. This guy is a joke. All he does is kiss my hand and give me excuses. Go and do something. All he does is sit at the village hall. My house has been damaged three times. I don't see Jim offering to pay for the damages if he can't fix the problem. He and his new board are a joke. This town is going down the drain.

@southsider "What would you like the Mayor to do about the flooding?" By the way you pose this question, you come across as some one who is close to the Mayor and probably in the Mayors political party back , what ever that may be this week. Now let me tell you what I would like THE MAYOR to do about the flooding. This Mayor has bragged about how close he is to Mike Madigan, and here is a man that represents our district and is probably more powerful than the governor is; you would think that our mayor would approach this powerful politician and explain to him the problem that this village is having with floods each year. After all, as the mayor has stated in the Chicago Tribune, he and Madigan are phone buddies. Even Rep Flowers was able to come up with $2M to fix the streets in her district on the other side of Roberts Rd., so why can't Madigan, Wasowicz's friend come up with the bucks to take care of the flooding problem. The reason some residents like yourself are not interested in this problem is...because... it...
does... not... affect... you. Just so you know there are people that are affected by this problem every year, it affects our lives when we have to continually keep on replacing personal property damaged by these floods. Not only do these yearly floods disrupt our financial lives but also our personal lives.

As far as this silly idea of Truck Stop, the Mayor is looking for a monument to himself, but the only monument that he will get will be a white elephant. This Mayor will never see a prosperous village with this new board or any board, because Justice has never been prosperous and never will be. There is no room for prosperity in Justice. The Mayor should be more concerned in trying to get the village deficit down from its present $300,000 than trying to think of a white elephant such as truck stop.

As I am sure many residents, I am already thinking to the next election in 2013 when we will be looking for a new Mayor that I hope is able to do something for our village.

Hmm, I wonder which party he is going to jump to next in 2013. Does anyone know??

LTLT. Let me point out that When Mike Murray and John Fairman went to Springfield for the money for the Roberts Park Street project, they were also promised money from the Speaker for 1.8 Milion dollars for a flood relief project combined with money from the MWRD to put a pipe under Cork ave from 75th st to the 71st ditch. the Ditch was to be widend, and another tube put under the tracks to help get rid of the water. The funding for the projects were put in a capital bill that was tied to gaming plan and has not been passed by the state legisiture.

Perhaps you should get your facts straight before you go shooting your big fat mouth off about what the Mayor is or isnt going to do. Ask Jeff Kranig or Jim Lurquin. I'm sure that they can confirm the funding hang up
