Saturday November 3rd North End Subaru in Lunenburg, MA threw a party to celebrate two momentous occasions..

2. North End Subaru commissioned the Advanced Art students and teachers from Lunenburg High School to immortalize the life of a Subaru across the face of a giant 60-foot exterior wall. Students showcased their artistic skills, and all visitors at the Crosstrek unveiling the new mural project proposal! The design will features ideas from students under the guidance of artist Nathan J. Di Perri.

A Word on the Subaru Mural Project

Subaru vehicles are manufactured on assembly lines to ensure uniform, reliable quality. On a functional level, cars are a means of transportation. In terms of design, Subaru distinguishes itself with superb craftsmanship and affordable luxury. Upon rolling out of dealerships across the world, they are individualized, becoming integral to the narrative of their ownerís life. For nearly sixty years, drivers have not only entrusted Subaru with their lives, but with their memories. From commuting through traffic and trips to the beach to climbing the earthís summits and bringing home a newborn child from the hospital, Subaru has served as a steadfast companion on adventures both great and small.

Presented were color sketches that serve as plans for a mural that will depict the excitement of sharing in the tradition of owning a Subaru and the thrill of where it may bring you. The completed mural will feature paintings of Subaru through the decades across seven vignettes printed on vinyl. Connected by a road to adventure, the cars and other select elements will be printed on separate pieces of vinyl and then mounted to enhance space and the interactivity of the viewing experience.

Juniors and seniors in Lunenburg High Schoolís Advanced Studio Art class conceived the muralís design both conceptually and visually and will execute the final rendering in the coming months. The finished wall will be unveiled in the spring of 2013.
