I am a huge Ravine Flyer fan. HUGE. I rode it over and over for about six hours straight last summer. And I still couldn't get enough. I can't wait to ride it again this summer. It's definitely one of Erie's biggest attractions for out of towners. I've heard that roller coaster enthusiasts who travel around the world to catch the most exciting roller coasters now list Erie's Ravine Flyer on their favorite destination spots for coaster riding. Fifty miles is far enough for me, but well worth the drive.

A group of coaster enthusiasts from the United Kingdom will be coming to Waldameer this summer to ride the Ravine Flyer. I believe there will be as many as 60 of them.

Great pic!

I will SO not ride roller coasters! My husband can't get enough of them -- the higher and wilder, the better! I am a real chicken about roller coasters -- and I guess my son inherited that, because since he was a little tyke, he has HATED most amusement park rides. I took him on a "kiddie" Spider when he was about 4 (I was no bigger than a 12-year-old, so they let me get on the "kiddie" ride) and it absolutely terrified him. He always much preferred the midway -- the games and stuff you can win. He was never much for rides, except maybe the merry-go-round. Even today, at 20, he doesn't do many rides. He'd rather walk around and spend money than ride on rides.(He's like his mom in that, too, lol.)
