This picture sure is a sign of the time.

I recall when C'ville was so taken by the first homeless person carrying a sign (late 80s and he traveled between towns)that when he showed up again at the corner of 30th the newspaper wrote of it in awe, referred to him as "our friendly beggar has returned."

How innocent we were just 20 yrs ago.

Common occurrence in New Orleans and Phoenix and most all big cities. They are all over the parks and Boardwalks. Interstate Highways say no hitch hikers but they are all over the place. We were on our way to Tucson once and we saw a girl hitchhiking on I-10 near Texas Canyon and her sign said " A Ride for a Ride" We chuckled all the rest of the way there. In Mesa one would sit right outside the drive up windows at Burger King and he for sure never went hungry. In Apache Junction we would see them on Apache Trail and when they were finished for the day they would go across the highway to the Cactus Club and drink all night LMAO.
