Try Christy Connley from Gooselake. She has a grooming service in her home. She seems really nice and has been doing this for about 20 years. She also works for a vet on the weekends. We will be booking with her for out next haircut! I have a difficult dog and she is willing to work with her to get her past the damage another groomer has already done.

If your dog comes in matted to the bone, yep.. All that can be done is the dog is shaved down for the health, pain factor, and the best look that can be attained. If you didn't know that...Maybe you shouldn't have a dog you can't take care of.

I had the same experience. I couldn't get my dog in at the usual place so I tried this place. She came back totally shaved down. Now here's my question:
When a dog is dropped off to be groomed, shouldn't a professional, trained groomer be able to take a look at the dog and determine there's a chance it may have to be shaved? And if so, don't you think the right thing to do is TELL THE OWNER
B E F O R E
you do it so they at least have the option of walking out the door with the dog or telling the groomer over the phone, "never mind, I'll come pick my dog up"?
My dog walked around in November with no hair looking like a damned otter because of that place.
For the record, I've had nothing but good experiences at The Clip and they have never shaved my dog down, even tho a couple of times I have taken her in there looking worse than she did the time All Paws shaved her down.

If you understood the coat would be shorter than you wanted due to the coat condition and when you received a call from me to verify we couldn't save the coat (That is the procedure)If we cant contact you, we wait for you to contact us...
I can't help the way the dog comes into the shop. The comfort of the pet comes first. If you'd planned honestly to be in a dog show, you'd most likely been grooming your dog multiple times daily and not allowing matting in the first place.
I imagine all of this stem from one person trying to fraud me into paying for an injury her dog sustained prior to visiting my shop. It's very sad and unfortunate that her dog was injured. But blunt force trauma did NOT occur at my shop. As a matter of fact... it was the only dog, and I had three people working on that dog and the owner stayed for the groom. The dog refused to walk into my shop, we carried it all around.... I did the best I could. When 2 days later the lady comes in claiming I injured her dog... It's simply not true. While that owner was there, she was telling me how The Clip killed her cat during a groom last year! Hmmmm sounds pretty fishy to me. I realize that I will never be able to make everybody happy 100% of the time. In times like these, some people want someone else to be the blame instead of taking responsibility for their own action or lack there of. That's life and business. I am a grooming school graduate, licensed, and an insured groomer who loves all animals. I am offended, yet I understand there will always be people who in animosity find comfort in hurting others.
Dogs have personalities just like people, and as a groomer I find a few owners much more vicious than their pets! I do the best I can... and no pet is ever... EVER... without respect in my shop! Even the ones who try to eat me alive!!!:) I guess 4,000 happy pets and owners and this handful... well... I hope you find a groomer with half as much heart as I. I groom because I love it, not because I have to make a living on it. There is a difference. Not all dogs are easy to groom, and not all owners are easy to please.

I can personally complain about the quality! They shaved my poor little dog bald. We took her in for a trim. We understood that they were going to have to cut her shorter than I wanted. When she was picked her up she was shaved down to the skin!!! They didn't even call me to ask if it would be ok. We intended to show her in a Paul Mitchell dog show. Well not any more! Good thing it is warm out because she is freezing from being naked! I have heard about the dog that just went through major surgery this week for a broken leg and dislocated hip after being groomed there! I can't complain about the poor haircut after hearing that but am concerned of what could have happeded to my puppy while she was there. I hope the other dog recovers quickly and ends up with a full recovery!

Sometimes it is simply a lazy groomer or if they make a mistake and chop the dogs hair they blame the owner and say it had to be shaved! Either way the owner of the dog should be notified before they shave the dog to the bone! Just like a crappy groomer to make up excuses for the poor job they do!

I've had all 4 of my pets there several times, Dogs and cats and she did an excellent job with all of them! Very gentle and loving to my pets. They are always happy to go to the groomer!
