Come on now you know this is not the actual Washington Park I've never seen it so empty. What did they do with all the drug addicts and drunks?

Does anyone remember Washington Park 1954-1959. The concerts, dances when they drained the kids pool, or the people who worked with kids like learning to make necklaces, messing in the game room. How about that smell of the pickle factory between Music Hall & Race St. behind the park.

Don't forget Raschig Elem. School, Immanuel Community Center across Race St. from park. That's a place that helped me and I know others. I only wish some of those people would speak up. Remember when Nash Methodist Church had a nursery all the way up to walking you to school and then back to the church nursery. They worked real close to Immanuel. How about Camp Potawatami and Camp Joy. Couldn't afford to pay you went free in the back of a big truck. Coney Island once a year free from Coney. Living in 1 or 2 rooms Immanuel was a life saver. Would I call me home town a dump city NO. Dumps are made by people - people should not be made by dumps.

I used to go to WASHINGTON Park school . I also went to the center for crafts and went to camp and coney island, my mom was a helper for the outings at coney island

used to go to the music hal to see concerts. went to porter middle and taft high
