This photograph means a lot to me. The Alba theater is where my parents met in 1946. A year later they got married and moved to 77 Varet St, four blocks away from the theater. The Alba Theater is also where my grandfather and I spent many an afternoon enjoying a good motion picture and the great popcorn.

Mario, I use to go the Alba every Sat. or to the RainBow on Graham ave. or the Rogers on Broadway and Ellery st. My moms side of the family are the Calero's from Aguadilla Puerto Rico.. We might be related...

Do you remember the Eicholz family? I think they lived on Varet St. Also, the Frau family lived in that vicinity.

I grew up on Ellery St., between Throop and Sumner Aves. My sister and I spent many Saturdays at the Alba Theater. Two movies, cartoons, popcorn, great memories!

We also went to the Rainbow Theater on Graham Ave. or the Graham Theater. The Rogers was a real dive, even back in the 50's. Only went there when we were desperate!
