The Fair Tax www.fairtax.org would cover all of that. It would level the playing field.

The Fair tax won't work. Not enough revenue for current spending. It also doesn't allow Congress to steer investment into areas of national importance through taxing policies.

I would like a liberal brainiac to tell us what rate they want the rich people to pay. Most will answer with "more" but have no concept of a hard number.

That's just the way they are.

I both agree and disagree with your reply. I have been studying The Fair Tax for a long time. With everybody paying their share (illegals, foreign visitors, drug dealers, etc), the money will be there. Not only that, but dropping the corporate tax rate in this country to zero instead of having the highest corporate tax rate in the world will inspire the companies who left here due to NAFTA to come back here.

With that said, your second sentence I really agree with and tells the story of why The Fair Tax will not happen. It takes away the power of the government to use tax breaks for political gain.

I also agree that we need the Libs to tell us what "the fair share" of taxes for the rich is. What they don't understand is that if ALL of the earnings of what Obama considers rich (250k) gave 100% of their income, our government would only run for a matter of weeks.

Although he is often described as the "father of capitalism" (and the "father of economics"), Adam Smith himself never used the term "capitalism". Term Capitalism was created by Karl Marxs.

It's official: capitalism is a dirty word

Republican pollster Frank Luntz was quite articulate about his conclusions: "Conservatives should not be defending capitalism. They should be defending economic freedom. And there is a difference. The word capitalism was created by Karl Marx to demonize those people who make a profit.
