A TV show starts here tonight called Axe Men following the working lives of a group of loggers on Buck Mountain. Anywhere near you?

The parts I've seen are filmed in Oregon. Some of Oregon has the same weather, etc. as here. Don't know if you kept up with the spotted owl controversey, you can probably google it- but our little community changed forever after that drama.

I work in the prison that was built just outside of town and we have a lot of ex-loggers, fishermen and cranberry workers working as officers now.

The spotted owl controversy never got this far or, if it did, I missed it. Yeah, these guys are working the mountains in Oregon and are as mad as a box of frogs. The boss of the largest crew lost most of one of his hands and has an attachment fixed on it. My favorite character so far is a bloke called Dwayne who just laughs in the face of adversity. It looks cold and wet and, yet, still scenic where they are. If Washington is like that then gimme some!

Right, here I go... [email protected] or [email protected] I gave you both as my friend in Michigan has trouble with one of them and it might be an Anglo-American thing. I also have Skype and am Rhysdad on that (if I can sort this webcam installation!).
