Regent Airways to invest $100m in expansion

Regent Airways plans to invest $100 million in expansion in the next two years to grab the growing aviation market of Bangladesh. The private carrier will add five new aircraft to its fleet and launch 13 new international routes during the period.

LOT E195 at Warsaw on Sep 11th 2014, anti ice problems

A LOT Polish Airlines Embraer ERJ-195, registration SP-LNC performing flight LO-379 from Warsaw to Frankfurt/Main , stopped the climb out of Warsaw at FL200 due to problems with anti ice systems, requested to descend to 6000 feet and returned to Warsaw for a safe landing on runway 33 about 30 minutes after departure. A passenger reported the captain announced some technical issues, the spoilers were deployed and the aircraft descended rapidly levelling off some time later followed by a normal landing, nothing abnormal could be seen upon disembarking the aircraft.

Austral E190 at Montevideo on Sep 11th 2014, loss of separation with helicopter on crossing runway

An Austral Airlines Embraer ERJ-190 on behalf Aerolineas Argentinas, registration LV-CIF performing flight AR-2394 from Buenos Aires Aeroparque,BA to Montevideo , was on final approach to and cleared to land on Montevideo's runway 24 at about 17:33L . At the same time a helicopter of Uruguay's Air Force was cleared to operate on crossing runway 19. The crew of the Embraer recognized a conflict at the intersection of runways 24 and 19 on short final and went around from below 200 feet, the aircraft climbed over the helicopter.

Compass E175 at Austin on Sep 10th 2014, cabin did not pressurize

A Compass Airlines Embraer ERJ-175 on behalf of Delta Airlines, registration N607CZ performing flight CP-5733/DL-5733 from Austin,TX to Los Angeles,CA with 76 people on board, was climbing out of Austin when the crew stopped the climb at FL200 and entered a hold at 8000 feet for about 40 minutes to burn off fuel. The aircraft landed safely back in Austin about 73 minutes after departure.

Finnair to open routes to Dublin, Athens and Malta in summer 2015

Next summer Finnair will add seasonal services to Dublin, Athens and Malta, with timetables designed for optimal connections with Finnair's network of Asian destinations. Service to Dublin begins on 30 March, Malta on 2 April and Athens on 5 April.

An Expressjet Embraer ERJ-145 on behalf of United, registration N16954 performing flight EV-4538/UA-4538 from Grand Rapids,MI to Newark,NJ , was enroute at FL370 about 50nm west of London,ON deviating around severe weather at about 23:19Z, when air traffic control observed the aircraft climbing to about FL376 then rapidly descending to FL337 before the aircraft returned to the assigned FL370 reporting extreme turbulence. The aircraft continued to Newark for a safe landing.
