OMG! America is simply crazy! Tell them that out here in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, we love everybody irrespective of their colour, including the mzungu (whites) despite the horrible colonial subjugation and legacy. We've Members of Parliament of Arab, Asian and Africa origin and all of them speak fluent Kiswahili, the linqua franca in this region. Why can't those white people accept even the chairman of the Republican Party? What a shame! Brother, just make your presence felt. Hang in there and let's hope you will be joined by more black people in that party!

I once worked for Merrill Lynch in the wealthiest county of St. Louis. I was always suited up nicely. Still, when I would walk over to the mall to the bookstore, coffee shop, or to get lunch, you should've the faces of those white people. You could tell what they were thinking. "Who is this Black guy?" "He doesn't look like he works in the mall." "Why is he here?" Also, I've been to job interviews where the interviewers had involuntary facial expressions because they were completely surprised when I walked in. They couldn't tell I was Black over the phone because I speak English better than them. This society is horrible. It will never change. Stop hoping for it. Note: I love all people. I know tons of white people. But, I also know reality.

My guess is that when campaigning for his current position, Ole Michael Steele probably spent the majority of his time receiving encouragement from the "nice white folks" of the Republican Party. Nothing wrong with that, but it appears he chose to forget about - or refused to acknowledge - the substantial white-supremacist/racist wing of the party. He comes off like a goober.

You would think one who claims to be as successful are you do,would be able to construct a proper sentence and would know the the little red line under the words means they are spelled incorrectly.

I mean seriously. There's like millions of them; one of him. If you're not a white man or woman in this party you don't matter; you'll always get the short end of the stick. There's a documentary on Obama as he was running for president on HBO; I watched a few minutes of it the other day and of course there's always one racist Re-puke-lican to say, "I don't want a Black president. What does Michael Steele expect? Some of those Re-puke-cans are more racist and prejudice than Jimmy and Oh_Scary. Child, please, more Black men in the NHL than there are in the hiararcy of the Republican Park.

That's all you have to say? Correcting his grammar and spelling? Child, please. He made excellent poings. Many Black men feel the same way as he does. And you're commenting on his grammar. Typical racist moron.

To kman comment, let stay on subject. We're talking about Michael Steele comments about the Republican be afraid of him. Even though KING DAVID sentence construction was improper, I still understood his point, whether I agree or disagree.

Does he really think they are scared of him? It seems a lot more like they simply don't respect him. He was supposed to be their answer to Barak Obama in order to convey a false sense of diversity within their party. Whenever he makes an observation that is remotely intelligent, and doesn't reflect the lockstep mentality, he gets chastised. Then, he backs down like so many of them have, and puts another nail in the coffin of his own credibility. I used to have a little respect for him when he was the Lieutenant Governor of Maryland under Robert Ehrlich, but not any more.

It's obvious voters in the notoriously DIVERSE states of New Jersey and Virginia could care less of the ramblings of the party's leader. He is irrelevant , and if he feels uncomfortable amongst certain party members , he can hit the bricks. He will not be missed. In fact , most voters , if asked , would not be able to answer the question.." Who is the Chairman of the Republican Party?". It's a moot point , as only diehard politicos know , or care. The GOP will continue to make strides by bringing White Independants back to the fold , as was CLEARLY accomplished in New Jersey and Virginia. Courting Blacks has never been a priority to the party , and as seen last Tuesday , is not really needed to win gubernatoral races in historically LIBERAL strongholds.

I had tremendous respect for him and Ehrlich. But now he is nothing more than for lack of a better word. A Token Puppet.
