$58 billion in malpractice and you solution is to forbid people from seeking redress from that malpractice? No, a better solution would be to get rid of the 1% of doctors who commit this malpractice.
America leads in pharmaceutical innovation and almost all of it is paid by the American taxpayer. The companies apply for funding to make the drugs then we pay through the nose to get those drugs. We oughta get a discount.
As far as foreigners taking American jobs, we can agree. That is why I oppose the GOP and their bringing in thousands of engineers to reduce engineering wages. Unemployment is much higher than 10.2%. That is a phony cooked number to make it look better.
I have not gone to Canada for health care, but it is tempting. I almost took my wife to Germany for health care. If I could have afforded it I would have. My wife has a condition which is easily manageable in Europe but the US couldn't even diagnosis it till the late 1990s. Europe had the cure in the 1940s.
I would be happy to wait in line a few hours rather than be told I cannot have health care ever.
Really? It's happened to your family? What measures have you taken to redress this atrocity? If you hire a painter to paint your house, but he doesn't finish the job, do you just shrug your shoulders, pay the man and whine about how "evil" the painters guild is?
I question the validity of your comments. Until I see specifics, which will more than likely include that nasty little "failure to disclose" caveate, then it is suspect.
Ok, you want trumped up malpractice to continue, then be prepared to pay higher rates. The "victim" and the doctor never really wins, but the lawyers, insurance companies and a plethora of other ambulance chaser always will.
I agree the unemployment number is far worse than 10.2%. I tried to explain the U6 report on here before and was lambasted for using "White Voodoo Magic Math" to make Obama look bad, so I usually run with the numbers that the level of education this audience can understand. If you think the Republican H visa policies were bad, the same policies that Democrats continue to support and expand, wait until March. What Obama is bringing out then will make your, and most Americans blood boil.
Finally, have you ever been to a VA Hospital? It's definitely not state of the art, but you do get long lines. You are "covered", per se, under layers of beaurocratic inspection and regulation, but that doesn't necessarily mean that you will be treated. But you will be "covered". Since we have a working model of what this bill really represents running in this country now in the VA, you should probably take a good look at the results of this fine program. Be prepared to cringe. But you would be "covered".

I wouldn't be suprised if some sort of "sensitivity training" is implemented for our Military in light of how the media is playing this out and it being just more of the same old. That America is at fault, the Military is at fault, etc. It bringing to mind Murtha who used the incident at Hadeetha and accused those Marines. To date, he, a Marine, never has issued one word of appology to them and even though they were all exonerated fully of the charges against them.
What I would like to know is where is Obama? Maybe I missed it but last I checked, he hasn't visited w/the families or those injured. Then, again, out of all the inaguration balls, Obama couldn't even find the time to attend the Medal of Honor ball which honored our finest.
Don't worry, while Obama hasn't visited the troops, as usual, a President who understand the level of danger this enemy poses has.
President Bush
Maybe soon we can fill that vacant position up on 1600 Pennsylvania Ave with a Real President again. Until then, we just have to wait on more staged nightly photo ops out of Dover. We just have to continue enduring the embarrassment a little longer.

OK. First of all, I agree with you. Secondly, that would be “country’s” not countries. I correct you because we need more good, patriotic, individuals, such as you, fighting for this nation. But I am playing devil’s advocate here to let you know how the Ivy League
educated intelligentsia will attack your arguments. We, all of us, must arm ourselves for battle. That includes educating ourselves. We must not allow ourselves to become brain-dead sheeple by indulging in sports BS, while our very lives are endangered. Utilize the time normally spent in watching football, basketball, baseball, etc… to read books which will enable us to win this battle. Start with Robert Taber’s book,“War of the Flea: The Classic Study of Guerrilla Warfare ” and move on to Geoffrey Fairbairn’s “Guerrilla Warefare: The Countryside Version. And don’t forget Sun Tsu”s –“The Art of War”

Is this a really good bill? I think I do not understand exactly what it means for 1) me, as a newly retired on Social Security; 2) for my daughter as the attorney/office administrator of a law firm; 3) for my son as an employee of a company, which may very well figure out a way to cut his benefits (such as cutting his hours to 38, rather than 40, which would eliminate his insurance). These are the games companies play, and they will continue to do so, no matter what the national law is.

What we're seeing here is a thing called "masturbatory gloating." ;)

Not to be off-color, but "mastuirbatory gloating" is a real thing. It's what right-wingers do to cheer themselves up during hard times.

Wingers have a strong physiological need to gloat. When times are tough--as they are now--and there is realy nothing to gloat about, our right-leaning friends simply make stuff up and then gloat about it. It's a desperate way to keep their flagging spirits up.

And who can blame them for trying? The back of conservatism in America has been broken. At this point, the right are Southern white males, mostly.

To buck themselves up, these people pull stuff out of their butts and then gloat about it. I call it "masturbatory gloating," and the wingers do it all the time.

That's why our friends are coming in here and saying it's all over for the Democrats, when they probably know perfectly well they're screwed.

You get fined or jailed if you don't have auto insurance... 500$ in Michigan! This has been going on for years. I've been forced to have auto insurance or pay why should this be any different. I think it's way more of a travesty that we get in trouble if our damn car isn't insured. Who you think pushed for that...can I say the banks handing out the loans! I'd rather be fined for saving something important like human lives!

Man are you delusional! Obama's ass is riding on this bill, so he passed it against the very wishes of the American people. The backlash and the outrage of Americans has only just begun. You democrats are history come 2010. I really have doubts that Obama will serve a 4 year term. In less than one year, America is ashamed and sick of him.

You really need to stop getting ALL of you FALSE information from Faux News Channel!!!

Here is the PROOF. http://www.nchc.org/facts/coverage.shtml
The National Coalition on Healthcare Website.

This is very informed and detailed Data regarding the Health Insurance Statistics.

Also, Harvard released a detailed study as well and here is the link for that and a brief overview.

Nearly 45,000 people die in the United States each year -- one every 12 minutes -- in large part because they lack health insurance and can not get good care, Harvard Medical School researchers found in an analysis released on Thursday.

It's rather odd that a large majority of the people that are AGAINST ALL Americans having affordable healthcare are the ones that are on Medicare! These people are already receiving the very same thing that the rest of us are asking for!!! Why does is cost me over a $100.00 a month just to get in to see my Dr. and that isn't even is she does anything when I am there!!! Most working class families with small children CANNOT afford this kind of costs. That $100.00 is the difference between having electricity or groceries for the month or seeing the Dr.!

I have YET to have ANY of these fools who are so ANGRY and HATEFULLY against Heathcare for all tell me specifically why they are against it? I don't think they have a reason other than that is what Fat Rush and the Crybaby Beck are filling their tiny little heads with lies. Notice how the GOP is paying on the stupidity of their followers by throwing out the "Bill will pay for Abortions" comment? The GOP knows that the people who follow them like sheep arent' smart enough to research the Bill for themselves so they create hysteria and fear by inciting the abortion issue and man oh man the Right goes nuts! If these people would actually READ from time to time they will see and KNOW that there is NOT any coverage for abortions. And if there was who cares? By not passing this bill the GOP are committing murder on a MASS SCALE as thousands of people will die for not having health insurance. The GOP are the REAL Criminals.

do you suppose that this government run healthcare will make a difference ?

how many people who have healthcare die each year ?

since I think you can do the math , the total number of deaths in the US were

2,426,264

now assuming your numbers are correct then the total number who died who had heathcare were how many ?

it seems to me that healthcare at its core had little effect on how many actually died .

now if you want to make your assertions more powerful , you could add how many survived because they had healthcare .

come an see us when you have a complete thesis on heathcare its affects and causes when dealing with the death of americans .

until then think about the people who will die due to screwed up government intervention into their heath choices .
