I thought the African-American response to struggling white folks was rather compassionate, overall.

What does "nearly all mean"? Notice that there is no mention of how many actual households this is referring to. So it sounds like "all black children are living on food stamps".

It is important to remember that many of these studies use cross sections to generate their findings. This means when they are doing the research they do not count every single african american household, but rather a section of the population that will then represent the entire population. In the study that was posted yesterday regarding HIV infection, the data excluded every single state where there was a high concentration of gay people or a large concentration of blacks. Why? In research you begin with your hypothesis and you work to prove your hypothesis by gathering data.

In the research field it is perfectly acceptable to exclude certain data to arrive at your conclusion. In this article the author is blurring the facts by quoting statistics that encompass a large group then add a obscure statistic regarding african americans. Race has nothing to do with it. ANY single mother with no education is going to be poor and livng on food stamps but it sounds like only african americans are. Don't fall for this propaganda, it's completely false

I'd *wondered* about that bizarre-sounding 90% figure since it's at odds with the actual size of the black middle class. Thanks for pointing out the little caveat there.

Shows that blacks have not achieved the success equal to whites. This is the reason why blacks are more likely to vote Democrat, they need government assistance more than whites. Rich black Republicans don't understand that.

The problem is, idiots get pregnant when they can't afford children, their tubes should be tied after the first mistake. Look at all the criminals, many of them are raised by their mothers, or grandothers.

Some people need to wake up and smell the coffee and se that it is not just blacks anymore it is other races like hispanics and so on and sorry to say it whites too. we the black race is not the only single parent home.Also married couples are going down to the state getting help also.

Our people are the worst begging for a free ride. They spit out children that they cannot take care of. Under Obama's plan their benefits have already started to be reduced and should be. every one gets a free breakfast and lunch and last year they started the after school meal because they ditch school after lunch
if you complete a school day you get fed

We work our asses off for the most part and all we ever hear is you racist cause you won't give me part of what you made. Hmmmm..... We have Marines and Army soldiers getting ready to deploy to Afghanistan by the thousands; we have hundreds of horribly wounded soldiers regularly returning home for surgery, rehabilitation, PTSD-therapy, etc, and you have the nerve to ask a stupid question like that?

Anyone that dumb (and selfish) doesn't deserve a salary or property that yields $34K in annual taxes.
