I especially like the following comments from this article: "This African-American man with an Arabic name has dared to usurp all the the CULTURAL and COGNITIVE tropes that white supremacy has historically claimed for itself. He is CALM in the face of their UNRESTRAINED EMOTION. The more ILLOGICAL they act, the more RATIONAL he comes across." The very contrast between Obama's rationality, his civility and the screaming fanaticism of his right wing white adversaries, give the lie to the myth of white supremacy. It is Obama's adversaries, not Obama (or blacks) who appear as the SAVAGES. I've no doubt that they are an embarrassment to all decent and enlightened American whites, including white progressive critics of Obama who can disagree RATIONALLY without all this hatred.

wow--what a racist diatribe. it is the insecurity of white folks that is the cause of all this racism. and anyone who disagrees with the policies of obama is basically a racist. give me a break. why not just deal with the policy disagreements? because there are a few fringe haters on both sides does not make everyone in-between evil. the people who spend so much time on these theories of racism would be lost without racism! it gives them something to talk about. why not try something constructive for a change? the fact that our president is half african american means nothing. what he does in office means a lot...

Frankly, I think that Obama arouses more hatred than does the half-literate brother from the hood. In the self-deluded minds of the more racist and right wing part of white America, the half-literate brother or the black person with a jail records gives them comforting confirmation of their own benighted presumption of superiority. But an Obama arouses the most frantic hatreds, the most psychotic panics...And since many whites are moving away from the delusions of white supremacy, I can only imagine that reactionary whites are feeling increasingly marginalized even WITHIN white America.

He's above their level......maybe because the FAR RIGHT has marginzlized the more intelligent conservatives that the Republican party and the media used to have. Now there are mainly clowns like Joe Wilson, and ranting buffoons like Glen Beck and Rush Limbaugh. If I didn't know a lot of decent and inteligent white folks-right, left and center--and if I really believed in the fiction of race, I'd probably conclude that whites were an inferior race. Obama is right on time either way we would see cuts, decreases in pay, higher taxes, states holding back especailly with right wing's proposed "smaller government" while the islands are just getting richer
people must realize our deficeits "will" get higher, but look at how much reform is saving u.s. government billions possibly even trillions over next 10 years
this is better than spending less while starting more wars, losing cargo not to mention hindering our trade capabilities causing a collapse quicker than ice legos in arizona hottest day

Jimmy Carter--made ANY of the claims you attribute to critics of the Obama haters.
