The Congressional Black Caucus Fails Afro-Colombians
Colombia is a country with the hemisphere's third largest population of Afro-descendants, one million more than Haiti's approximately 8 million predominantly African descendants. While Afro-Colombians make up more than 25 percent of Colombia's population, they are disproportionately affected by the ongoing violence in the Andean nation. Indeed, approximately 40 percent of Colombia's 3.8 million internally displaced persons are of African descent. Whether they are caught in the crossfire or specifically targeted, Afro-Colombians are frequently forced to abandon their communities and ancestral lands.

This is not about congressional Black caucus only,it is also about the A.U ( african union) in Addis abebas. Te jews do not let their people down, but we balck do.

1 I agree, the african leaders should intervened in the plight for the afro-Colombians they r african and shouldn't be discriminated against in the land that they made rich. They should be african pressure groups in the diaspora to protest about the plight of our people home and abroad, to put pressure on the ruling elite of african that we r not happy. |

This is true. Columbia successfully mixed their cultures into one. They fought aganist this kind of divisiveness in the 40' and 50's. I totally agree with you. Americans should not judge the world based on their own narrow minded views. |

Westerners are the only group of people that clam skin color as a race. Some idiots have bought into it. West Africans are not the same as East or North- we are all different people. Pan Africans need to learn about Africa

I'm not learning anything here young lady. Believe it or not, Black people are oppressed in colombia because they are Black, period. Being Black being means bieng from african origin. We gonna sue the colombian government in court. All Black leaders will be involved. I'll put into place a committee that will go to Addis Abeba and many african countries to make the case about the genocide against Black people in south america in general and in columbia in particular. |

Thats not true, they r slaves taken from africa and settled in a strange land columbia. They r discriminated against, bullied and raped just because they r african. African all around the world live in a analogous situation. Remember Columbia is made up of European settlers, African slaves and the indigenes of the land. I don't think there is a black person in government or senate. |

If you are mixed race and have issues with the black race its your problem.The black race exists and true blacks leaders must start to intervene everywhere in the world to defend the interests of the black race.I know that your are ethiopian and therefore not black.It sad that the siege of AU is addis abeba in ethiopia a country full of mixed-races.The AU siege should be in Nigeria to reflect the fact that africa is the land God gave to the black race. |

Please travel and talk an investigate more. You seem to be near sighted. Do not take my comments as an insults. I only want to encourage Pan Africans to develop a well rounded view of the world. There is a difference between oppression- an being a minority. No matter where you are in the world. If you belong to the minority group, you will have a hard time. This is just a fact of life. |

I am sorry I mixed up Columbia with Cuba. I have never met anyone from Columbia so I do not know if you are right or wrong. However, I do hope you some sources to back this up. It is not nice to say things like this unless you know it is true. |
